The most critcal aspect of the California Republican Party is garnering support from the Appointers and Delegates. The votes cast for elected officials within the party need to be directed to voting the morals and values of the Republican Party.

APPOINTMENT PROCESS

In mid-December, the California Republican Party asks candidates to appoint delegates for the three state conventions of 2025-2026. How many delegates they can appoint depends on how well candidates do in the election. Actual appointments likely will be transacted online. Other delegate appointments will come from the current Chair of the CAGOP and Board Members as well as from County Chairs from around the State.

These appointments are candidates’ and other appointment opportunities to directly affect how the party conducts—or fails to conduct—elections. Delegates choose the Board of Directors, elect the Officers, and write the Platform. Win or lose, for candidates, they earned these appointments and owe it to their voters to make wise choices.
